Add/Remove App Shortcuts to the Dock (Mac OS)

To Add App Shortcuts to the Dock:

• Open your Applications folder
  • To access your Applications folder:
    • Click your desktop background
    • Click Go at the top left of your screen
    • Click Applications

• Click and drag the app you want a shortcut for to the Dock

• The App Shortcut will appear in the dock

To Remove an App Shortcut from the Dock:

• Click and drag the App Shortcut from the Dock to the Desktop
• Release the mouse when you see the Remove notification over the App Shortcut

Open Apps in the Dock:

• An open app in the Dock has a white dot underneath it:

• If you need to restart or close an app, always right click it and select Quit to completely close the app.
  • Clicking the red button in the app's window does not completely close the app like it does in Windows (PC)
  • It is useful to keep apps closed so that your system can run faster
    • Multiple large apps, like Adobe CC apps, will bog down your system or cause slow restarts/logins if too many are open at once
