TAMUCT utilizes the Palo Alto GlobalProtect Client for our VPN service. We have provided a guide for how to download, install, and login for Windows computers. Information on how to use Remote Desktop Services will be posted soon.
Part I: Download Instructions
- Navigate to https://vpn.tamuct.edu in your web browser. Note: This URL will not be accessible while you are connected to the campus network.

- Sign in with your TAMUCT email account

- Complete your sign in by entering your password and approve the Microsoft MFA request. Some users may have passwordless sign in and will only need to complete the MFA step.
- On the next screen, you may choose to stay signed in. This is not recommended, especially on shared devices.
- Select the appropriate download for your system. For the purposes of this guide, you will choose the Windows 64 bit GlobalProtect agent (most common for Windows machines; only use 32 bit if prompted by your system).

Part II: Windows Installation Instructions
- Navigate to the downloaded application (GlobalProtect64.msi) and click to run.
- Click 'Next'

- Click 'Next'. GlobalProtect requires 241MB of free storage space. The default location is recommended but power users may wish to install GlobalProtect elsewhere. Please do not install GlobalProtect to a thumbdrive or portable hard drive.

- Click 'Next' again to confirm installation and accept the User Access Control (UAC) prompts by clicking 'Yes'.
- When the installation is finished, click 'Close' to exit the installer.

- A gray globe will appear in the system tray. Click it to bring up the GlobalProtect client and fill in vpn.tamuct.edu in the text box beneath 'Portal'.

- Press connect. An embedded browser may appear, the sign in process should be similar to the one described in Part I. If you're already using your TAMUCT account for Microsoft Office applications, it may automatically sign you in.
- When the connection is successful a prompt will appear stating the University's acceptable use policy. Close out of the tab to agree.
- A successful connection will appear as a colored globe and a 'Connected' text.
